How cool?

Do you have any fridges or other appliances keeping food cool (e.g. refrigerated vending machines)? Under food safety law, refrigeration temperatures should be between 0°C and 5°C and should be checked and recorded at least twice a day (am and pm). It is good practice to do this regardless of what the fridge is used for, whether in a staff room or coffee area. Keeping a thermometer in each fridge makes this cheap, quick and easy, or you can opt for an external display for a little extra cost.

Refrigerated vending machines should have an external temperature display, but if not, an infra red thermometer will make taking the internal temperature possible and convenient.

Any freezers should be below -18°C which again should be checked at least twice a day and recorded.

If you run a cafe within your gym, extra temperature specifications also apply.
